2. Acceptance of Terms
By visiting this website, submitting a registration enquiry, or attending a Stoneground session, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Our Services are intended for adults aged 18 years and above. By agreeing to these terms, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement.
If you are registering on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have their authority to do so and that the terms herein apply to them equally.
3. Service Description
Stoneground provides educational and informational sessions in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Our current offerings are:
- EPF Statement Reading Workshop — A group session that assists participants in reading and understanding their own Malaysian EPF statements using publicly available materials. The workshop is informational in nature and does not constitute financial advice of any kind.
- Quarterly Reading and Discussion Series — A moderated reading and group discussion held four times per year. Each session is built around a single publicly available reading on retirement preparation. An annual subscription covers all four quarterly sessions.
- Annual Reading Retreat — A one-day off-site event combining structured reading, group discussion, and individual reflection. Meals are included. Attendance is limited to a small group. The retreat is educational and reflective in nature.
All Services are general education activities. Nothing Stoneground presents, distributes, or discusses constitutes financial, legal, or investment advice. Participants are responsible for their own financial decisions.
Stoneground makes reasonable efforts to deliver sessions as described, but reserves the right to adjust session content, format, or venue with reasonable notice to registered participants.
4. Registration and Enrolment
Attendance at a Stoneground session is confirmed only upon receipt of a written confirmation from Stoneground following an enquiry or registration submission. Submission of an enquiry form does not by itself constitute a booking.
Stoneground may decline a registration at its discretion, for example if a session has reached capacity or if the session is not suited to the enquirer's circumstances as described in their enquiry.
You are responsible for providing accurate contact information at the time of registration. Stoneground is not responsible for missed communications resulting from incorrect details submitted by the registrant.
5. User Responsibilities
When attending a session or using this website, you agree to:
- Conduct yourself respectfully toward facilitators and other participants at all times
- Not record, photograph, or reproduce session Content without prior written permission from Stoneground
- Not share, distribute, or publish session Content in any form without prior written permission
- Not use session Content for commercial purposes
- Not engage in any conduct that disrupts a session or creates an uncomfortable environment for others
- Not submit personal information belonging to another person without their consent
Stoneground reserves the right to ask a participant to leave a session if their conduct is disruptive or contrary to these terms. No refund will be issued in such circumstances.
6. Intellectual Property
All Content produced or compiled by Stoneground — including discussion guides, session slides, printed handouts, and website text — is the intellectual property of Stoneground and is protected under applicable Malaysian copyright law.
You are granted a limited, personal, non-commercial licence to use Content provided during sessions for your own private reference only. This licence does not permit reproduction, distribution, or public display of any Content.
Reading materials selected from publicly available sources remain subject to the copyright of their original publishers. Stoneground makes such materials available for educational discussion purposes only.
Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you.
7. Fees and Payment
Session fees are as follows, in Malaysian Ringgit (RM):
- EPF Statement Reading Workshop — RM 470 per participant
- Quarterly Reading and Discussion Series — RM 950 per year (four sessions)
- Annual Reading Retreat — RM 2,460 per participant
Fees are payable in accordance with the payment instructions provided in your confirmation. Sessions are not considered confirmed until payment has been received.
Stoneground reserves the right to adjust session fees. Any price changes will not affect confirmed bookings for which payment has already been received.
Fees are non-transferable. A fee paid for one participant may not be applied to a different participant without prior written agreement from Stoneground.
8. Cancellation and Attendance
Participant cancellations: If you need to cancel a confirmed booking, please notify us as soon as possible at [email protected]. Cancellations notified more than 14 calendar days before a session date may be eligible for a credit toward a future session at Stoneground's discretion. Cancellations notified within 14 calendar days of the session date are not eligible for credit or refund.
Session cancellations by Stoneground: In the event that Stoneground is required to cancel a session — for example due to facilitator unavailability, venue issues, or circumstances outside its control — registered participants will be offered either a place at a rescheduled session or a full refund of the amount paid.
Force majeure: Stoneground is not liable for any failure to deliver a session resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural events, public health directives, or infrastructure failures. In such cases, Stoneground will make reasonable efforts to reschedule affected sessions.
9. Disclaimers
Stoneground's sessions are educational and informational only. Nothing presented, discussed, or distributed by Stoneground at any session or on this website constitutes:
- Financial advice, investment advice, or recommendations regarding EPF contributions, withdrawals, or fund selections
- Legal advice of any kind
- Professional retirement planning services
- Advice specific to any individual's personal financial position
Participants are encouraged to seek independent qualified professional advice for matters relating to their personal finances or EPF accounts. Stoneground is not a licensed financial adviser and does not hold itself out as one.
This website and its content are provided for general informational purposes. Stoneground does not warrant the completeness, accuracy, or fitness for purpose of any information on this website.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Stoneground's total liability to you in connection with any claim arising from these terms or your attendance at a session shall not exceed the fee paid by you for the session in question.
Stoneground is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss or damage arising from your use of session Content or this website, including but not limited to lost earnings, financial decisions made following attendance at a session, or loss of data.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by Stoneground's negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, to the extent that such limitations are not permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stoneground, its facilitators, and associates from and against any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these terms, your conduct at a session, or your misuse of session Content.
12. Termination
Stoneground may terminate your access to a session or future sessions if you breach any provision of these terms, engage in disruptive conduct, or provide materially false information at registration.
You may withdraw from a session in accordance with the cancellation terms in Section 8. Upon withdrawal, your licence to use Content associated with that session ends, and you agree to destroy any copies in your possession where requested by Stoneground.
Sections 6, 9, 10, 11, and 13 of these terms survive termination of this Agreement.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or related to these terms or your use of Stoneground's services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
Before initiating formal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally. Please contact us at [email protected] with a description of your concern. We will aim to respond within 14 business days.
14. General Provisions
Entire Agreement: These Terms and Conditions, together with any session confirmation provided to you, constitute the entire agreement between you and Stoneground in relation to your participation in our sessions.
Severability: If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
Waiver: Stoneground's failure to enforce any provision of these terms on a given occasion does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
Assignment: You may not assign your rights under this Agreement without Stoneground's prior written consent. Stoneground may assign its obligations without restriction.
Notices: All formal notices to Stoneground should be sent in writing to the address in Section 16, or by email to [email protected].
15. Changes to These Terms
Stoneground may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects participants with existing bookings, we will make reasonable efforts to notify those participants directly.
Continued use of this website or attendance at a session following any update to these terms constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
